Scotch Cocktail Recipes You’d Love to Try!

The next time you’re hosting a party and someone says it’s sacrilege to make a cocktail out of Scotch, don’t let them win the argument with ‘Scotch is too good to be mixed with anything’. All you need is the right blend of ingredients that show off its flavour, and they will thank you for proving them wrong.

Today we bring to you 4 of the best and easiest Scotch cocktail recipes:

  • Blood and Sand – This is a drink that uses Scotch to great effect.

 

Ingredients:

1oz blended scotch

1oz fresh orange juice

¾oz sweet vermouth

¾oz cherry flavoured liquor

 

Directions: Pour ice and all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Shake well for 10 seconds; garnish with a cherry.

 

  • Modern Cocktail No.2 – This drink will prove how wonderfully blended scotch can bewith a cocktail.

 

Ingredients:

1oz blended scotch

2oz sloe gin

1 dash (small quantity) orange bitters

1 dash absinthe

1 dash pomegranate grenadine

 

Directions: Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir about 20 to 30 seconds, until well chilled.

 

  • Rob Roy – This drink is ideal for those hot summers.

 

Ingredients:

2oz blended scotch

1oz sweet vermouth

2 dashes Angostura bitters

 

Directions: Add ice to the ingredients, stir well for about 20 seconds. Twist a piece of lemon or orange peel over the drink and use as garnish.

 

  • Penicillin – This drink is a sure-fire cure for a cold winter night.

Ingredients:

2oz scotch

¾oz fresh lemon juice

¾oz honey syrup

3 slices of fresh ginger

Directions: Use a mixing spoon to mash the ginger to the bottom of the cocktail shaker until it is fully juiced out. Add the remaining ingredients, and fill the shaker with ice. Shake until well for about 20 seconds.
